      Battery back up depends on usage of system, If there are lot of applications in use at a time, back up will be less compared with a backup that you will get if 1 or 2 programs are in use. A standard battery back up will be anywhere between 1 hour to 1hr 30 minutes. I would suggest you to also check and ensure that there are no other programs that gets enabled once you turn on the system.

      This could be a problem either with the hardware or software. To isolate the same, run hardware diagnostics test. If all tests are passed, it confirms that the issue is not with hardware on the computer.

      - Press the power button to turn on the system
      - Press F12 repeatedly or Fn+power until you see boot menu
      - Select diagnostic

      and wait for the test to complete . In case you get any error message while running the test then there is an issue with the hardware.

      Otherwise it is a problem with the software. You can do PC restore to bring the system back to factory settings. Please find the steps below to do PC restore.

      As soon as you turn on the system tap F8 key 7-8 times to get the recovery option.
      Step 1 : After getting to system recovery options click on 6th (last) option – ‘dell data safe and emergency back-up’ and wait for few seconds for next screen.
      Step 2 : On next screen, click on 2nd option – ‘select other system and more options’.
      Step 3 : On next screen, click on 2nd option – ‘restore my computer’.
      Step 4 : On next screen highlight the option ‘factory image’ and then click on ‘next’.
      Step 5 : On next screen click on 2nd option – ‘restore without preserving new and used files’.
      Step 6 : Click on – ‘YES’

      Note# “Please back up data to avoid data loss while the computer is restored back to Factory settings”.

      We need to first find out that it’s a LCD issues or Video card issues. Diagnostics can help in this case.

      Please perform this hardware diagnostics on your computer.

      - Press the power button to turn on the system
      - Press F12 couple of times or Fn+power until you see boot menu
      - Select diagnostic
      and wait for the test to complete

      Allow the basic test to start, after a moment you may notice a video test running, allow it to run and it will ask if it looked ok, you should choose no, this will start the BIST

      So if you noticed the graphic problems while running normal diagnostics, you selected no, the graphics test didn’t look good, the LCD would create its own signal, so if all of a sudden the image started looking good, with no problems that implies that the problem is with the video card, while if the picture still looked bad and had the same problems the LCD is defective and needs to be replaced, but if result is clear in the first part then also update the video drivers.

      We need to first find out that its a LCD issues or Videl card issues. Diagnostics can help in this case.

      The key to running diagnostics is to run the BIST test. Run diagnostics by starting the system while holding down the FN key or by tapping the F12 key and choose diagnostics.       Let’s ensure the hardware functionality first so perform a hardware diagnostics by following the steps:

      Turn on the system and tap f12 (8-10 times)
      - press F12 couple of times until you see boot menu
      - select diagnostic
      and wait for the test to complete also make note of any error code if you receive for speakers and webcam Also check and see the LCD functionality. Please ensure to check the lines are coming on the system or not.
      Once this gets complete you will have to check the LCD Functionality in BIOS as well. Please follow the steps below to check the Screen status in BIOS by:-

      Turn on the system and Tap F2 (8-10) times….until you see the Blue BIOS Screen…..and press F9 to load the BIOS to default settings… and press F10 to save & Exit.

      Once this test goes through this confirm the hardware functionality of the system. Then for web cam issues You would need a webcam application to make it work on your computer, you may use the “Dell webcam central” which should be in your computer or you can also install any third party application.       This could be a hardware or software issues. In order to isolate the problem first perform a hardware diagnostics to ensure that this problem is not related to any hardware issues

      To do a hardware diagnostics by please follow the steps mentioned below:-

      - press F12 couple of times until you see boot menu
      - select diagnostic
      and wait for the test to complete also make note of any error code if you receive.

      Once the diagnostic is complete try to turn on the system in safe mode by
      turning on the system and press F8 ( continuously for 6 – 8 times)
      select safe mode with networking and check the windows functionality. If system boots perfectly in safe mode then try to do a system restore.

      (Note**** Data may get lost so please ensure to back up the data before following any of these steps, because system will be set back to factory settings)
      (***PC Restore will not work in case you have ever formatted your system, In that case you will have to do a operating system reinstallation)

      Touch pad erratic moment could be because of increased sensitivity or drivers not working properly.
      First check the touch pad sensitivity
      go to touch pad settings in control panel
      – select keyboard and mouse settings and change the sensitivity to minimum
      also try to update the drivers from the support website

      In case if still not fixes the issues then you can disable the Erratic movement from Ms config also

          This seems to be a issue with the LCD itself. Lets perform a LCD test in order to ensure the LCD Functionality.

          Press the “power” + letter “D” key simultaneously to turn on the system. This will start a automatic LCD test on your system.       - Continuously press F8 key ( 6-8 times)
      -Once you see the boot menu select ‘dell data safe and emergency back-up’
      -Step 2 : On next screen, click on 2nd option – ‘select other system and more options’.
      -Step 3 : On next screen, click on 2nd option – ‘restore my computer’.
      -Step 4 : On next screen highlight the option ‘factory image’ and then click on ‘next’.

      Once this is complete your system will restart automatically and system is good to go.

    I belief in the best so I have purchased DELL laptop but I am facing difficulties while I operate it.

    1) The USB port not properly working always shows it is in use while I remove the pen drive.
    2) Word document is not properly open.
    3) ₹ (Rs.) sign commas.sign not appears.
    4) Key buttons are loose and come out
    5) While I use the net the page is not display from last 12 days though the net is getting connected properly and the amount also deducted, the problem in the system .
