Described as a Hindu nationalist by media, Narendra Modi is a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He was born on 17th September, 1950 in Vadnagar in Mehsana district of Gujarat. He did his schooling in Vadnagar and was a very good debater. Later he got enrolled in Gujarat University to pursue Masters Degree in Political science. Though hestarted his political career as a campaigner of the RSS, very soon he became prominent. He started organising agitations. Shortly he came in touch with Vasant Gajendragadkar and Nathalal Jaghda – founders of the BJP’s Gujarat Unit. In 1998, he became the National Secretary of the BJP. 2001-2002, 2002-2007, 2007-2012 and 2012- present are the four terms he has been serving as the CM of Gujarat.
