Ramakrishna Mission Library in Delhi is one of the branches of the original institute located in Belur, Kolkata. It was started during the summers of 1897 by the popular figure, Swami Vivekananda. It was registered as a Trust in 1901.  Since then it has been actively and religiously involved in the service for the welfare of the complete planet along with the one’s salvation. It is one of the most significant organisations dedicated to humanitarian service.  At present it has grow out to cover 172 branches, of which 75 are Mission centres, 69 Math centres and 28 combined Math and Mission centres. To be precise 129 centres are located in India and 43 are abroad. In addition to these there are also 33 sub-centres attached to different branches where monastic workers reside permanently. Apart from managing ashrams and temples, Ramakrishna Mission also administers several schools, libraries, colleges, students’ homes, hospitals with indoor facilities, dispensaries, clinics, rural and tribal development centres, homes for the invalid, etc. The Ramakrishna Movement has contributed largely for the strengthening of the browbeaten. Its services, particularly in the fields of teaching, physical condition and relief work in times of suffering are well-known. Besides, the Ramakrishna Mission Delhi Library has 40,000 books and regular periodicals. Formerly drawn by Swami Vivekananda himself, the universal emblem of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission is a representative depiction of their philosophy and believe. The idea of the emblem is that, by a mixture of all the four Yoga, the superlative self can be comprehended.
